Look at the sign on the computer system and you will see a palm-shaped part, called a mouse. This is called a pointing device.

The mouse has two buttons that can be used to give different instructions to the computer. The two-button mouse also has a wheel that can be used to move the window up and down while working on a program.

There are currently two types of rats, mechanical mice and optical mice. The mechanical mouse carries a ball and the optical mouse uses laser technology.
